I woke up on a Monday morning with water dripping on my head it was another leak it felt icy cold on my head.I wish I could live in house without leaks.I got up walked across the room and I slipped because the floor was sopping wet.I was so saw I got up and went outside It was warmer than inside. So I waited in the warmth of the sun until my parents got up.My father started making a fire and my mother went to get water.I really would like clean water to drink. My father and I sat on the floor in silence until he said go get ready for school.I got up and went inside and put on my only clothes. The clothes were not so bad at least they were not wet ,but they were terrible to wear and if only I had proper shoes.when I got outside again. My father had already left for work and Mother was cooking pup. When the pup was ready she said eat up quickly and so I did.I was hungry. Then I had to start my long and tiring journey to school. I was walking on the road to my school when I saw my best friend she was smiling and I smiled back. For the rest of the far way to school Willow my friend and I talked all the way to school. When I got to school finally I felt happy and ready to learn and share my pencils with the other children in my class. So when I was done school me and Willow took the bus home I was glad it was there because I didn't want to have to walk to my house again. When I was in the bus I thought of many things and when it was my stop I got out of the bus and walk from the bus station to my home.I walked for a while till I got home.My parents were already cooking supper on the fire.I talked to my parents for a while until the food was ready.I ate my food in silence taking every bite slowly. When It was finished I went in to the house and fell on my messy bed.In seconds I was a sleep from my tiring day of life.
Tatum, you have written beautifully and I love how you have tried to be descriptive. You've made some very important observations of people living in an informal settlement. I loved reading your blog.
